Ice had started tasting of everything else in the freezer, so we stopped using it. He explained how the bin picks up odour, changed the filter, cleaned bin and scoop. Tastes like water again.
Frosting up for a year, and every previous fix was simply to defrost it. The fault was the defrost thermistor. He showed me the reading, explained what it meant, replaced it. Clear ever since.
Interior light stayed on after the door shut and the compartment crept warmer all week. It was the door switch, not the control board somebody else had quoted for. Gone within the hour, base vent vacuumed.
